Since opening our doors, Gamers-Corps has hosted over 400 Gamers in our store wide campaigns, which doesn't even include our one shot events. We have been blessed to have an amazing cadre of Dungeon Masters (DM), Game Masters (GM) and Judges. Yet, were always asked by countless Gamers for advice on being a DM. We all could relate to the nervousness, and in some cases, the anxiety of the aspiring DM - and now we did something about it. For you, the Gamer. Better yet, we made sure it was packed full of value for you. 

The Gamers-Corps DM Academy will consist of at least 10, two hour sessions. Aspiring DMs / Players will meet once a week on a day / time which is agreed upon by the group. Every aspiring DM will receive a GC DM Academy Textbook, D&D Dungeon Master Guide or equivalent ($50), a custom made Fates End GM Screen (pictured above), A GC "DM Crate" packed full of miniatures to jump start your homebrew campaign, and an exclusive GC DM T-Shirt. 

Curriculum Description:

Running Actual Campaigns: Students will have the opportunity to apply their learnings by running actual campaigns with fellow academy participants. This hands-on experience allows them to practice their storytelling, encounter design, and world-building skills in a supportive and immersive environment.

Creating Unique Game Worlds: Students will develop their own unique game worlds, complete with lore, history, and locations. They can showcase their creativity by designing diverse landscapes, cities, dungeons, and other intriguing settings, providing players with immersive and engaging experiences.

Designing Memorable NPCs: Students will learn how to create memorable non-player characters (NPCs) that enrich the game world. They can practice developing unique backstories, motivations, and personalities for NPCs, bringing them to life through engaging dialogue, mannerisms, and interactions with players.

Building Engaging Encounters: Students will have the opportunity to design a variety of encounters, including combat encounters, social interactions, and puzzles. They can create challenging and dynamic encounters that test players' skills, allowing them to develop their encounter design and balancing abilities.

Managing Table Dynamics: Students will learn effective techniques for managing table dynamics, including fostering a positive and fun gaming environment. They can practice facilitating engaging and collaborative gameplay sessions, managing player expectations, and addressing any conflicts or disruptive behavior that may arise.

Adapting to Player Choices: Students will gain experience in adapting their campaigns and narratives based on player choices and actions. They will learn how to think on their feet, make quick decisions, and adjust the story in real-time to accommodate unexpected player decisions, providing a dynamic and engaging experience for the players.

Campaign Management: Students will learn how to effectively manage campaigns, including session planning, player progression, and long-term story arcs. They can practice organizing and structuring their campaigns, tracking storylines, and ensuring a cohesive and satisfying narrative for the players.

Player Engagement and Feedback: Students will develop skills in creating memorable moments and fostering player engagement. They can experiment with various techniques to make their campaigns more exciting and meaningful for the players. Additionally, they will learn how to gather and utilize player feedback to continually improve their DMing skills and the gaming experience.

Miniature Painting: Students will learn Basic and Advanced miniature painting techniques to help prepare your tabletop in creating a fully immersive gaming experience for your players. 

FAQ: 

1. Will the course only cover Dungeons and Dragons?

No. Dungeons and Dragons is the most popular, however, everything we cover is / can be applied to every Tabletop Roleplaying Game (TTRPG).

2. Will there be assignments? 

Yes, FUN assignments. Everything is geared towards you crafting a campaign your passionate about and preparing you to create life long memories at the table with friends and loved ones. 

3. Will we actually play the game?

Yes, every aspiring DM / GM will run a game at some point. A short one shot designed by the aspiring DM. We believe in repetition and finding more excuses to play D&D.
